Have you completed our Intro to Garments class and are ready for a new project? Are you comfortable using your sewing machine finding your seam allowance, but now want a new challenge? Join Laura for this two-day class on Saturday, March 8th from 3 - 4pm and Sunday, March 9th from 12 - 3pm  to create the Pietra Pants & Shorts pattern from Closet Core Patterns. This pattern is made for the confident beginner, and is an ideal project that can be made again and again as skills and confidence increase.

Level: Confident Beginner 

This is a good class for developing your skills as a confident beginner. If you know how to sew a straight line, can follow a seam allowance, and have recent experience using a sewing machine, you are ready for this class. We will briefly review the use of the Bernette sewing machines in our sewing salon at the beginning of the class. You need to come to class with your fabric laundered, and your pattern size traced onto tracing paper. Should you come to class without the proper preparation, there is an even greater chance you will not finish your garment in class. If you are not familiar with reading garment patterns to determine your size, fabric requirement, or how to trace your pattern, consider signing up for a private lesson, or taking our Garment 101: Informational class.

This includes six hours of instruction in a small group setting, use of our machines and equipment in the sewing salon, the required elastic and interfacing, and a copy of the Pietra Pants & Shorts pattern. Fabric for the pants will need to be purchased, and will include a 20% discount if bought from Chateau Sew. The fabric requirements for this pattern range from 1.5 yards to 3.25 yards depending on size and view that is being made. This pattern includes US sizes 0 to 20.

In case of cancellation by us, you may choose to be refunded or receive store credit for the amount paid at the time of registration and use the credit towards a future class within 6 months.
