Make a Hemingway Pouch for your favorite laptop, e-reader, or glasses in one day This class is ideal for confident beginners as well as more experienced sewers and quilters who want to spend some time getting back to the basics and improve their techniques. We will cover adapting the pattern for your specific device dimensions, basic quilting of the case, making binding tape, and sewing a zipper. Go home with a great pouch and prepared to make fun gifts for your book club, friends, and family. 

Level: Confident Beginner on Up 
You need to be able to make a bobbin and properly thread your machine, adjust stitch width and stitch length on your sewing machine, and sew a straight line. If you aren't sure if you have these skills, email us at chateausew@gmail.com or give us a ring at 504-533-9221. We will review all the required techniques on our machines in the sewing studio, so you will get a refresher in the class if you are a bit rusty.

The cost of the class includes five + hours of instruction in a small group setting, use of our sewing studio, machines, tools, and the pattern. We have sewing machines available in our sewing studio to use during the class, if you don't have your own machine or don't want to transport it to the shop every week. Yardage requirements vary depending on the size of your device. Send us your measurements in advance, or just pick out your fabric at class. You get a 20% discount on fabric purchases made in the shop for this class.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations or rescheduling must be made no less than 48 hours before the first class in this series. 

In case of cancellation by us, you may choose to be refunded or receive store credit for the amount paid at the time of registration and use the credit towards a future class within 6 months.
