Are you interested in learning to sew garments, or refreshing your sewing skills, but nervous to jump right in on a big project? Are you interested in getting started on some fun gifts? Aprons are great for learning to adapt patterns to different sizes because they are pretty forgiving in their final design.

This is a good class for developing your skills as a confident beginner. If you know how to sew a straight line, can follow a seam allowance, and have recent experience using a sewing machine, you are ready for this class. We will briefly review the use of the Bernette B37 sewing machines in our sewing salon at the beginning of the class. Then we will cover adapting Mary Mulari's Criss Cross Reversible pattern for your desired fit.

Class cost is $75. This includes five hours of instruction in a small group setting, use of our machines and equipment in the sewing salon, and a copy of the pattern.You will need to purchase the fabric for the apron.

The apron requires one yard each of two different 42" wide cotton fabrics. One yard is for one side of the apron, the other yard is for the reverse side. But we do recommend 1-1/4 yards of each fabric to leave plenty of room to adapt the pattern for your preferred size. You will receive 20% off your fabric if purchased at the shop. If you choose to buy fabric with us, please either visit the shop a few days before class to pick out your fabric, or arrive at least 20 minutes before class. The instructor will be in the shop before class to give you a hand. If you prefer, we can prepare a kit for you. All fabrics and kits purchased for the workshop are discounted 20%.

We must have a minimum of 3 students enrolled to hold a class. We reserve the right to cancel due to low enrollment.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations or rescheduling must be made no less than 24 hours before the class otherwise you forfeit the class fee.

In case of cancellation by us, you may choose to be refunded or receive store credit for the amount paid at the time of registration and use the credit towards a future class within 6 months.

Payments must be made in advance to secure your spot.
