Let’s help keep discarded clothing out of landfills! Join Melissa for a night and learn to upcycle button-up shirts into aprons. We will deconstruct a shirt and piece it back together to create a different garment. We will integrate finished elements of the shirt into the apron, no measuring and no hemming required.

Level: Confident Beginner Adult

For adults 18 and older. You need to be able to make a bobbin and properly thread your machine, and follow seam allowances. We will provide a quick review of the Bernette sewing machines in our classroom at the beginning of class, so no worries if you are a little rusty on the machines.

The cost of the class includes four hours of instruction in a small group and the written instructions to take home in order to repeat this project at home.

Supplies Needed:
1 Long sleeve shirt, 100% cotton (The size of the shirt will determine the size of your apron, the larger the shirt, the larger the apron can be)
1 Cotton Fat Quarter for bib lining
2 D rings
1 Slider Buckle (optional)

Time: Friday, May 1st from 4pm - 8pm
Feel free to bring snacks, or dinner with you. There are several restaurants in the area you can pick up from and bring back. Food & Drink are allowed in the classroom if accompanies by respect for the machines and space. :-)

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations or rescheduling must be made no less than 48 hours before class for store credit.

In case of cancellation by us, you may choose to be refunded or receive store credit for the amount paid at the time of registration and use the credit towards a future class within 6 months.

Skill Details:	We'll be deconstructing an already existing button down shirt, making use of existing hems and finished details.
Materials Included:	Includes 4 hours instruction, use of the studio, tools, threads, and machines.
Requirements:	Attendees must be adults, 18 and older, and are required to bring a cotton, long-sleeve button down shirt with the intention of upcycling it, and need to be comfortable working a sewing machine largely unassisted. Confident beginners are welcome. Hardware, webbing, and an additional fat quarter must be purchased at a discount or supplied by the attendee.
