Tackle the next steps of quilting with the Felix quilt from Penelope Handmade. If you have some experience with patch-work quilting and are ready to step it up to the next level, this class might just be for you! In the course of 6 weeks we will complete the Felix quilt top by learning techniques to make half-square triangles, and flying geese, some of the most popular quilt blocks around! We'll also focus on piece organization, cutting processes, and layout.

Level: Confident Beginner/Advanced Beginner and beyond!
This class is for adults 18+ who are confident in using a sewing machine, winding a bobbin, threading a machine, sewing a consistent seam allowance, and has experience piecing patchwork using 1/4" seam allowance. The attendee should have made a quilt or quilted object before and have a working understanding of how a quilt is made. We will be completing the quilt top only.

Price: $160
The cost of the class includes 7+ hours of instruction in a small group setting, use of our sewing studio, machines, tools, and the pattern. Items purchased for this class will receive a 20% discount, and any rental time needed will receive a 30% discount on rental time.

You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine, however, we have six sewing machines and quarter-inch patchwork feet for this project in the shop classroom. This class will require "homework". If you do not own a sewing machine, or cutting tools, you can rent time in our classroom to complete your homework at a discounted hourly rate of $10 per hour. If you do not do homework, you will likely not finish the quilt top in class.

Fabric is not included in the price of the class. If purchased from the shop, you will receive 20% off, but you are welcome to source your fabrics from home. It is recommended you make the 45" Square version of this quilt, however, you can make whichever size brings you joy. The Felix pattern fabric requirements are below:

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations or rescheduling must be made no less than 48 hours before the first class in this series. In case of cancellation by us, you may choose to be refunded or receive store credit for the amount paid at the time of registration. No refunds or rescheduling for students who do not show.

Skill Level:	Intermediate
Skill Details:	We'll learn Half-Square Triangles, Flying Geese, and perfect the use of cutting tools, reading rulers, squaring up fabric, and scant-quarter inch seam allowances.
Materials Included:	7+ hours instruction in a small group setting, use of the classroom space and tools, and the Felix Pattern
Requirements:	You need to be able to be confident using a sewing machine unassisted, and ideally have made at least one patchwork quilt or quilting project before. Attendees must be familiar with the concept of a quilt, and be able to sew relatively accurate 1/4" seam allowances. Attendees must be adults age 18+.
