The Sandhill Sling is the perfect small bag to serve as your every-day bag or a small bag for traveling! It's large enough to fit all your essentials, while small enough you barely notice having it on you. This bag is a great introduction to more advanced bag making. You'll learn to sew using some hardware, without getting overwhelmed with too many parts and pieces. You can choose to make your bag more structured with batting or foam stabilizer, or use heavier or interfaced fabrics instead.

Level: Confident Beginner 

This bag requires accurate seam allowances, and following unique shapes. Though this is a relatively easy bag, it requires working knowledge of a sewing machine, and confidence in basic sewing skills. Your pattern pieces should be cut out prior to arriving to class or it is unlikely that you will finish the bag in class.

- Up to 7.5 hours of instruction in a small group setting,
- Use of our classroom machines, space, and equipment,

- A 20% discount on supplies purchased from Chateau Sew for this class.

Requirements:
This pattern requires:

• 5/8 yard Exterior Fabric
• 5/8 yard Lining Fabric (includes interior pocket)
• 1 ¼ yards (1 ½ if making fabric strap) Fusible Woven Interfacing (Pellon SF101-20”/51 cm-wide)
• (1) 18”  handbag zipper* for top closure
• (1) 10” handbag zipper* for front pocket closure (View A) OR 14mm magnetic snap/size 24 metal spring snap (View B)
• 1”-wide d-ring AND 1 ½”-wide strap slider AND 1 ½”-wide swivel snap
• 1.5 yards of 1 ½”-wide cotton webbing OR ADD ¼ yard to Exterior fabric requirement (1 yd total) for making a fabric strap

Foam stabilizer or batting can be used for a more structured bag. If you want to quilt your bag, you need to have your exterior fabric quilted before class. Bag pieces should be cut out and interfaced ahead of time or it may not get completed in class.

Time: Wednesday through Friday, October 28th through 30th, 5:30pm - 8pm

Fine Print: Payments must be made in advance to secure your spot. Each attendee requires their own registration. This class is geared for adults age 18 and up. Registrants will receive an email from hello@chateausew.com shortly (about a week) before class. Please monitor your spam and junk folders to avoid missing the email. If you think you have been missed, please do not hesitate to reach out to the shop.
Cancellation Policy: All cancellations or rescheduling must be made no later than 48 hours before the beginning of class. We reserve the right to cancel class due to low enrollment. In case of cancellation by us, you may choose to be refunded or receive store credit for the amount paid at the time of registration. No refunds or rescheduling for students who do not show or cancel withing 48 hours of the beginning of class.
